Located between land and sea, Deshaies offers you a series of beautiful beaches for lazing around but also a wide choice of activities for all tastes. The city center is located about 6km away, pretty and colorful, do not hesitate to walk there and chat with the locals and the traders, a "good morning well vigil" and the secrets of Deshaies will be revealed to you! While staying at Domaine de Fanélie, here are some discoveries you can make:
Ferry battery , just opposite on Pointe Ferry you will discover the remains of one of the old lines of defense that protected the Côte-sous-le-vent (from Deshaies to Basse-Terre), a bronze cannon dating from the 17th century is still visible there (allow about 30 minutes to reach it on foot at the end of the path which starts in front of the path of the castle of Ô).
Leroux beach , calm and family-friendly with its 100m of white sand, it is one of our major assets (count less than 3min by car or 7-10 min walk along the N2 for about 450m then we take a small stony path at corner of the blue wall to avoid bends, otherwise by continuing on the N2 it is accessed by the main entrance), 2 restaurants open for lunch are at the entrance to the beach, one of them is also a bakery / pastry shop . A "coconut sorbet" merchant also sets up nearby some afternoons.
Petite-Anse beach , a real aquarium, ideal for snorkeling, you will find the closest diving club and a restaurant (also barely 3 minutes by car, access on foot is not very safe, you have to walk along the N2 with a "very limited" shoulder)
Gardens , You can already discover in Fanélie a wide variety of flowers and fruit trees, we recommend an immersion in the former property of Coluche the "Botanical Garden of Deshaies" on 5ha you can admire nearly 800 plant species in particular ( about 4km from your gîte). More modestly, the ""Domaine de Lucinthe Idalie"" offers you a guided tour by reservation (about 3.5km still in the direction of Deshaies).
Other Deshaies Beaches , each one unveils its own particular charm, come and see us at the end of your vacation to elect your favorite! Grande cove (less than 9 km away, you are there at the same not 15min) , La perle and Anse Riflet follow at 11km, finally Tillet at the other end of the territory of Deshaies is 14km away.
